Steve Ehrlich, the owner and president of Ehrlich Design Builders, boasts an impressive career spanning over 40 years in the construction industry. Throughout his professional journey, Steve has held roles as a superintendent and project manager, overseeing diverse construction sites, including ground-up constructions, remodels, tenant buildouts, demos, and design and builds.
Steve's portfolio includes collaborations with prominent clients such as Valero, Buffalo Wild Wings, Kroger, Albertson’s, HEB, Brinker, Pro Ranch, Howdy’s Convenience stores, Top Golf, Circle K, Texas Roadhouse, City of Fort Worth Tactical Center, and Schlotzsky’s.
His commitment to quality, perfection, and efficient time management of his team ensures that projects are completed flawlessly from the outset. Actively involved in day-to-day operations, Steve can often be found on job sites, participating in bids, traveling for work, and attending pre-construction meetings.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Steve finds joy in traveling, attending concerts, playing golf, spending quality time with his family, and unwinding at his lake house. Blessed with a large family, Steve is a proud father of two daughters, two sons, two stepdaughters, and a grandfather to twelve grandchildren.
Cindy Ehrlich serves as the co-owner and Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer of Ehrlich Design Builders. Before co-founding the company with Steve in 2008, she held a prominent role as a store director in retail management at Albertson's grocery stores in the DFW metroplex. Accumulating over 30 years of management and financial expertise, Cindy retired from Albertson's in 2010 and has since been working full-time with Ehrlich Design Builders.
In her capacity, Cindy efficiently manages all office personnel, overseeing paperwork, billing, accounting, and even taking on project management responsibilities, as demonstrated in her work with Buffalo Wild Wings. Actively involved, Cindy is often found working in the office or home office, traveling for work alongside Steve, and participating in construction meetings.
Beyond her professional commitments, Cindy finds joy in traveling, beach trips, shopping, spending time with her children and grandchildren, relaxing at the lake house, and the companionship of her cherished Bernedoodle, Mollie.
Kjerst, serving as our Senior Project Manager, has been an integral part of Ehrlich Design Builders since its inception in 2009. With a wealth of experience, Kjerst adeptly manages our construction personnel and oversees both ground-up and remodel projects. His specialization lies in efficient bidding processes and cultivating strong professional relationships with our clients, notably Brinker International (Chili's), which stands as one of his top clients.
In addition to his managerial responsibilities, Kjerst's dedication and expertise have positioned him as second in command, working closely under owners Steve and Cindy Ehrlich. His hard-working nature and profound knowledge of the company's background and project construction contribute significantly to the success of our endeavors.
Joel, a seasoned professional with over 40 years of construction experience, has been an invaluable part of Ehrlich Design Builders since 2013. As a Project Manager based in Kansas, Joel specializes in the meticulous bidding of new projects and oversees job management for prominent grocery stores such as Dillons, Bakers, Kroger, and Gerbes.
In his role, Joel takes charge of hiring and managing subcontractors and employees, ensuring seamless project completion. He handles scheduling and coordinates the procurement of manpower, equipment, and materials to guarantee timely project delivery. Joel's commitment to going the extra mile is evident in his dedication to ensuring the success of every project.
Joel's journey in construction began during his teenage years, working with his father, a carpenter for a custom home builder. After serving in the military as a Combat Engineer, Joel returned to Kansas, accumulating 20 years of experience in residential construction, ranging from new homes to remodeling and insurance work, including water, fire, and tornado damage. After 13 years as a foreman, he ventured into entrepreneurship, establishing his independent contractor company with a focus on commercial remodeling. Among his favorite and most challenging projects was the conversion of an automatic car wash into a beauty college.
Bob has been an integral part of Ehrlich Design Builders since 2014, bringing over 11 years of valuable construction experience to our team. Starting as a carpenter with our company, Bob's dedication and skill set propelled him to become one of our highly esteemed project managers. He specializes in bidding, scheduling, and efficiently overseeing projects, with a focus on Albertson's and Tom Thumb grocery stores.
Relocating from Missouri to Texas to pursue his career in the construction industry, Bob follows in the footsteps of his father and owner, Steve Ehrlich. In Missouri, he gained experience working on finish outs at UTSW hospital and served as a carpenter, handling tasks such as framing and trimming custom homes. Bob's journey within the company reflects his commitment to growth and excellence.
Lionel, a seasoned professional with over 35 years of construction expertise, has been an invaluable member of Ehrlich Design Builders since 2018. His specialization lies in bidding and managing projects for prominent clients such as Kroger, HEB, and Five Below.
With a diverse skill set, Lionel excels in bidding processes, establishing project budgets, developing schedules, issuing contracts to subcontractors, managing change orders, and conducting onsite construction meetings. With a wealth of experience in commercial remodels and ground-up projects, Lionel has collaborated with top-tier companies including Walmart, CVS, Kroger, HEB, Churches, and Five Below. His past roles also involved tenant finish outs, multi-family, and single-family subdivisions/residences while working with ACS Construction and Perdue Construction.
Coming from a large family of 15 siblings, Lionel values and enjoys significant family gatherings. Grateful for his blessings in life, Lionel brings his wealth of experience and commitment to excellence to every project he manages.
John has been an integral part of our company since 2010, showcasing his commitment and dedication. Starting as a carpenter, John's exceptional skills and hard work have propelled him to become one of our highly skilled project managers. He specializes in bidding and efficiently managing projects, with a focus on Buffalo Wild Wings and Kroger grocery stores.
Before joining Ehrlich Design Builders, John served as a residential project manager for Perry Homes, accumulating 8 years of experience in the field. His extensive training spans both residential and commercial construction, with a specific emphasis on project bidding, managing job site personnel, and overseeing projects from inception to completion. John's wealth of experience and expertise contribute significantly to the success of our projects.
Sherry joined Ehrlich Design Builders in 2021 as an Assistant Project Manager, and she currently supports Lionel in managing projects for Kroger grocery store remodels. Her focus is on overseeing projects and ensuring the effective and efficient operation of job sites.
Before joining our team, Sherry served as a Reset Operations Manager with Kroger, acting as a liaison between the General Contractor and store personnel. This role provided her with valuable knowledge and experience in grocery store remodeling, equipping her with the expertise to adhere to schedules and address any issues that may arise during the process.
In her personal life, Sherry is a proud mother of two beautiful girls (ages 29 and 21) and a grandmother to three grandchildren (ages 9, 10, and 13). During her free time, she enjoys beach vacations and camping with her fur babies. Sherry's hands-on experience and dedication contribute to the success of our projects.
